Cece C Essay The Day I Got My Cat Have you ever rescued a pet? Well I have. And when I saw that one special cat, I knew that was the one for me. I was waiting for days to come to get him. That moment that I saw him I knew that he was the one for me. So then I thought this is the best day ever. On May 15th ,2008 my two brothers,Mom, Dad and I went to get a cat at a shellter. Just when we were going inside the shellter I saw a black dog with a little shine in his eyes. We were at the State of Illinois shellter. When we got in side it smelled like a old people smell. Old people smell like this weird expired milk kind of smell. And we saw old, sleepy,boring cats. We didn't want old,sleepy,boring cats we wanted a very playful cat and we didn't really care if it was a boy or a girl. We looked at cats all shapes and sizes in the adoption room. Then we saw a cat pawing at is litter mate it was very playful. The cats fur was as black as night on a cold winter day. They told us that the cat was a boy. Well we said,''Can we try him?” They said,''Yes” So we tried him we all loved him. We said,''We want him” So me and my mom had to fill out a form. There was all sorts of questions. I thought some questions were stupid like one said do you have a pet. Then there was one that said are you allergic to cats or dogs. I had tears in my eyes and thought if she said yes we would not get cat. Then she put down I just have itchy eyes. When we were all done we handed it in to the front desk. When I touch the desk I fellt a chill go done my back. We had to wait for two weeks and when that was happening I was thinking would we get a cat. The last day of two weeks is over. Then I heard the phone ring my mom answered it. When she got off the phone she told me we could have a cat. When we got in the car I would not stop crying because I was happy. When we got there the vet had to take a look at him. When he came out we had to give him a name. Delaney said,''B-Cat Chapman.” Ethan said,''Gost.” I said,''Shadow!” Then we all agreed on the name. Then they put him in a cage and we took him home. When we left I felt great and very happy for Shadow. I also could not wait to get home because I could not wait to show him his home.
